ŽOUŽELENÍ
absorbing subjective feelings of bliss and enjoyment triggered by sensory
stimuli while engaged in interaction
Exploring the sensory joy of tactile interaction, Žouželení is a series of wearable objects that evoke bliss and play. Here, touch becomes both a creative tool and a sensory guide, capturing the curiosity of exploring the world with one’s hands. The pieces are designed to spark instant, instinctive reactions, transforming sensory desires into tangible forms that invite play
and interaction.
By using everyday materials like pipe cleaners, ping pong balls, and flocking, Žouželení reimagines the familiar into something whimsical and unexpected. These pieces, crafted through repetition and accumulation, blur the boundary between art and toy, inviting viewers into a world of fantasy and intuitive association. The experience draws adults back to a childlike sense of wonder, encouraging lightheartedness and spontaneity.
At its heart, Žouželení rekindles the open, uninhibited playfulness often left behind
in adulthood, inviting wearers to rediscover joy in serendipity, curiosity, and unexpected moments.
Žouželení was exhibited in Spain and the Netherlands in 2023 with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
